Hello Breakthrough Martial Arts students and parents,

As you are likely already aware, both the City of Kyle and Hays County have implemented measures to minimize exposure to COVID-19 for about the next three weeks (and likely longer) by limiting gatherings of more than 10 people.  I think we all share the impact and difficulty of this environment in various ways.  As an instructor and school owner, I am now in a position of deciding how best to move forward with these restrictions.  We must comply with the regulations and also wish to do what is best for our students and the community as well.  Many ATA schools are implementing virtual classrooms, private lessons, etc. to continue providing instruction to students.  I am considering possible options for how to move forward with instruction.  I have been gathering information and input from my seniors and others and simply don’t have the answers today.  I will provide more clarity as soon as I have clearer direction but it will likely be at least another day or two.  We will communicate with you more as we make those decisions; in the meantime, we plan to cancel classes for the remainder of this week.

I would like to encourage you to continue training at home to improve technique and conditioning (set aside some specific time to train—most of us have more of that now).  It is my hope that this situation will pass soon and we can return to normal life and training.  Please be assured that it is my desire to continue teaching and helping students reach their goals, although it may be a bumpy ride for a little while.  I would like to invite discussion on our private facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/breakthroughkyle) and if you would like to see any specific forms, techniques, clarifications, etc. please let me know.  I think that would be a good forum, not to spread panic or negativity but to encourage each other and communicate through this situation.

We will communicate more information as we have it.  We appreciate you being part of our taekwondo family and thank you for your understanding and support.

Best Regards,
Master Scott Larsen
